The gated development has been planned on a site between the public highway to the capital City Banjul and the Atlantic coastline of Kololi Point. The development will comprise: a 60 guest room 5-star hotel, 68 (5, 4 and 3-bedrooms) villas, 48 two-bedroom apartments, 12 three-bedroom penthouses, free-form leisure pool, tennis courts, pontoon for mooring boats, infrastructure, hard and soft landscaping. The hotel restaurant is planned with an external terrace surrounded on three sides by an ornamental pool and formal gardens and is separated from the leisure area by a screen wall. The restaurant will provide diners with views to the west over the sea. So as to preserve the quiet enjoyment of the environment within the village and so as to reduce air pollution, it is proposed that vehicular movement within the site will be by way of electrically powered ‘golf-buggies’. The buildings will be designed to use the heat of the day and the cooling effect of the sea breezes to moderate the interior environments of the various buildings.
